Fashion & portrait photography on behalf of Home Manchester to document the culmination of several weeks of workshops with service users from the Manchester Deaf Centre and artists Sally Gilford & Natalie Linney. The group had worked on a range of streetwear style items of clothing and accessories. Working with the group to create their own patterns and textures the garments were then created by seamstress Jessie Stringer Fewtrill. The group wanted to have a fashion shoot in both a studio-style environment and an urban environment.

Warehouse photography, Amazon Manchester, Warrington 

I was invited to capture the opening of Amazon’s latest distribution centre to capture some event photography and warehouse photography at their grand opening. My day was spent documenting the arrival of two separate waves of workers, their roles in the vast warehouse & the warehouse environment. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the gantries and seeing the vast warehouse from different vantage points.  There’s also a really impressive network of conveyor belts that take the parcels to a variety of different locations within the distribution centre. I caught myself on more than one occasion watching the parcels on their route around the space for several minutes at a time when I should have been shooting.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is the first of hopefully many blog posts here on my site.  I’ve arrived at one of those quieter periods and rather than just treating it as an opportunity to execute those personal projects I thought I better share some of what I’ve been up to. On reflection, I’ve had a busy year working as a commercial, portrait and events photographer in Manchester. The beginning of the year saw me undertake one of my most engaging long term projects with Manchester-based theatre company Art with Heart. The project lasted several months and involved workshops, documentary & portrait photography with a group of seniors from Rochdale, Manchester. I will be sharing some of the outcomes in a later blog post.
