Beyond The Surface
Delve 'Beyond The Surface' and experience a photographic reimagining through the eyes of photographer Joe Smith. This series of images showcases deconstructed, upscaled, and re-layered photographic artworks, crafted through multiple exposures and experiments on the print.
As a basis for the artworks c type prints were submerged in a bleach dilution and the process was photographed at 15-second intervals. The resulting images depicting the swirling dyes of the physical print have been overlayed with a portion of the original image. The artworks were digitally printed on blue-backed paper, wheat pasted and layered onto salvaged wooden boards. Their presentation has been heavily influenced by fly poster advertising found on the streets.
